Geography Landforms. Straits of Mackinac, a waterway in the U.S. State of Michigan connecting two of the Great Lakes, Lake Michigan and Lake Huron and separating the Upper and Lower Peninsulas of Michigan; Mackinac Island, an island in the Straits of Mackinac; Mackinac Falls, a submerged waterfall in the Straits of Mackinac just east of Mackinac Island. Answer 1 of 13: Do you prefer to get to Mackinaw Island from a ferry in Mackinaw City, or from St. Is there really a difference? Is this a silly question? Lol I've never been to the island but have been to both mainland cities in the past.

Unser Heim
Beschreibung unseres Tauschangebotes
Our recently renovated Dutch Colonial Revival farmhouse, built in 1904, is a quiet respite located in rural Michigan on our 15-acre riverfront family farm. Our 3,000 square foot home, renovated and expanded in 2012, has four bedrooms and three full bathrooms. On the main floor is a living room, kitchen, dining room, library, bedroom, laundry room, and two bathrooms. The second floor consists of three bedrooms and one bathroom. There is also a lower-level workout room/family room with a walk-out to a stamped concrete patio with firepit. We also have a large front porch with cushioned patio furniture, a back deck with an outdoor dining table and BBQ grill. Additionally, we have a 20 foot by 40 foot pool with a surrounding deck.
Our home has an attached garage, use of children's outdoor toys, bicycles, and kayaks, as well as our seven-passenger Chrysler Town & Country van. Our farm has several outbuildings and is home to 30 head of beef cattle, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. (We have family living nearby who will take care of the animals). We also have two vegetable gardens -- a small kitchen garden and a large garden with fresh summer produce. The Pine River, which borders the property is great for kayaking or bass fishing.
Located in Michigan's Great Lakes Bay Region, our home is a 15-minute drive from the city of Midland, a small city with local parks and a vibrant downtown, the Midland Center for the Arts museum, Dow Gardens, a minor league baseball stadium, as well as walking and running trails at the Chippewa Nature Center. Central Michigan University is a 20-minute drive from our home, located in the city of Mount Pleasant, Michigan, which also has golf courses, a children's museum, a vibrant downtown, and rivers for canoeing or kayaking.
We are centrally-located in Michigan. Our home is a convenient location from which to explore Michigan's offerings. We are 2 1/2 hours north of Detroit. We are 2 1/2 hours south of the Mackinac Bridge and Mackinac Island, and Michigan's Great Lakes are just a short day trip away.

We are both educators, a college/high school science teacher and a university English lecturer. We have four sons ages 16, 13, 8, and 6. We have never been abroad, and would love to take our family see the world. We promise to treat your home with the same love and care with which we treat our own. We've lived in our present location for 15 years and take pride in the projects and updates to our home and property. We have been exploring our family history and are especially interested in visiting Ireland, but we're open to all exchanges.
